Warranty
Warranty
Last updated: June 2026
At Forge & Lumber, we take pride in the quality of our handcrafted rings and jewellery, and we stand behind them. We offer a one-year warranty on all items purchased directly from Forge & Lumber, starting from the date you receive your order.
What the warranty covers
Our warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use during the one-year warranty period. If a genuine defect arises within that period, please contact us with your order number and a description of the issue, and we will work with you to put it right — which may include repairing or replacing the item at no charge. In some cases we may ask you to return the item so we can inspect it and identify the cause.
Your statutory rights
This warranty is a voluntary commitment we offer in addition to your legal rights as a consumer — it does not replace or reduce them:
- In the UK, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you rights where goods are faulty, not as described or not fit for purpose.
- In the EU, you benefit from a legal guarantee of conformity.
- In Australia, our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
- In New Zealand, the Consumer Guarantees Act applies.
Nothing in this warranty affects those rights.
What the warranty does not cover
Our warranty does not cover:
- normal wear and tear;
- damage caused by misuse, abuse, accidents or improper handling;
- damage resulting from not following our care guidance (below);
- resizing, alterations or repairs carried out by anyone other than us;
- loss or theft; and
- the natural variation, patina or change in appearance that is characteristic of the materials we use.
Because our rings are handcrafted from natural and specialist materials, slight variation in grain, colour, pattern and texture is expected and is not a defect.
Caring for your ring
Many of our materials are natural or reactive and need a little care to stay at their best. Following this guidance also keeps your warranty valid.
- Meteorite is an iron-based material and can oxidise or develop surface rust if exposed to prolonged moisture. Keep it dry, remove it before swimming, bathing or washing up, and occasionally apply a light protective oil. Oxidation caused by lack of care is not a defect.
- Damascus steel develops a natural patina and can rust if neglected. Keep it dry and lightly oiled.
- Wood is sensitive to water, heat and humidity. Avoid prolonged water exposure and remove your ring before swimming or showering.
- Blackened zirconium has a dark surface layer that can show wear over time with heavy use. This is normal and can often be restored — see "Repairs outside the warranty" below.
- Tungsten is extremely hard and scratch-resistant, but its hardness also makes it brittle: a sharp knock can crack it rather than bend it. Avoid hard impacts.
- Titanium and carbon fibre are durable and lightweight but, like all jewellery, can scratch with everyday wear.
As a general rule, remove your ring before manual work, the gym, or contact with harsh chemicals. We include a free silicone band with ring orders as a hard-wearing alternative for active or hands-on situations.
Sizing and exchanges
Getting the right fit matters. We offer a 90-day size exchange so you can swap for a different size if needed — see our Refunds & Returns policy for how this works. Please note that you are responsible for providing the correct size at the time of ordering.
Repairs outside the warranty
If your item isn't covered by the warranty, we may still be able to repair or restore it at a reasonable cost. We'll provide an estimate and get your approval before carrying out any chargeable work.
How to make a claim
To make a warranty claim, contact us at info@forgeandlumber.com with your order number, a description of the issue, and a few photos if possible. We'll guide you through the next steps.
Thank you for choosing Forge & Lumber, and for trusting us with something made to last.
