    In Hawaii the koa were the warrior class, and the tree carries the same name. That isn't a coincidence — koa wood was what they built their weapons and their canoes from, so the word ended up covering both the people and the thing they trusted their lives to. There's koa set into this one, and we went with the older meaning.
